Common Name Description Collection
CDLHEWB 61 wooden packing case with seven shelves Cape Denison Artefacts
CDLHLAS 25 Turned piece of wood with screw thread at one end Cape Denison Artefacts
CDLHMC 64 chair Wood and canvas folding chair with ferrous attachments at each of the arms and at the cross over area where the legs fold out and at the back. The back of the chair is sloping. The arms are carved with the wood rounded at the top. There are three rails at the back of the chair, the top one of which is broken and mostly missing. It appears that top rail was originally shaped and may have curved up. The seat is made of grey canvas and is attached to the wooden frame by a sleeve at each end. It is difficult to assess but it is possible that the wood was originally varnished. Two legs are attached with a wooden dowel, which has a diameter of 20 mm. The front wooden surfaces of the legs are worked into a rounded shape. The chair is 720 mm high; the width across the back of the chair is 445 mm and the width across the arms is 495 mm. the distance between the rails is 110mm. The width across the canvas seat at the front of the chair is 390 mm, the width across the canvas at the back of the seat is 350 mm. The canvas seat is 360 mm. Each arm is 580 mm long by 25 by 25 mm. The wood that makes up the rails measures 30 by 20 mm. The wood on the legs measures 35 by 20 mm. It is very similar in design to the remains of folding chairs observed on rocks to the East of the Main Hut. Cape Denison Artefacts
