This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The ice dome rising to 1650 m at the SW extremity of Aristotle Mountains on Oscar II Coast, Antarctic Peninsula. Situated 12.7 km E of Roundel Dome, 15.8 km SE of Bersin Ridge, 58.4 km W by S of Cape Disappointment, 25 km NW of Bildad Peak and 34.2 km NNE of Moider Peak. Surmounting Crane Glacier to the NW and Flask Glacier to the S. British mapping in 1976. Named after the capital city of Spain, in connection with the Madrid Protocol on Environmental Protection to the Antarctic Treaty.
