Publishing observations to external organisations

The Data Centre has been sending biological distribution data via the Darwin Core schema using Distributed Generic Information Retrieval (DiGIR) query protocol to GBIF and OBIS since December 2003. The data is now also being aggregated at SCAR-MarBIN, which as of May 2006, has being recognised as the Antarctic regional node of OBIS. As at June 2008, the Data Centre contribution is over 750,000 records.
