An island about 1.5 km across, in the eastern part of Stefansson Bay between Fold Island and Keel Island. The island was first visited by an ANARE led by Peter W. Crohn in 1956.
Mapped by Norwegian cartographers from air photographs taken by the Lars Christensen Expedition (1936-37) and called Tverrholmen (The Transverse Islet).
