Narrative

La Expedición Antártica Chilena de 1947, al mando del capitán de navío Federico Guesalaga Toro, que efectuó un completo levantamiento de bahía Chile, les dio el nombre islotes Soldado Catalán por el soldado DC. Juan Catalán Barril, integrante del equipo que construyó la Base Antártica Chilena en isla Greenwich. Desde 1951 se usa el nombre islotes Catalán para evitar el nombre compuesto. Grupo de islotes y rocas ubicadas muy próximos a la costa S de bahía Chile, a 7 cables al SE de punta Labbé, en isla Greenwich, islas Shetland del Sur.
