Fue descubierto por la Expedición Antártica Belga de 1897-1899, al mando del teniente De Gerlache. El nombre apareció en una carta basada en levantamientos de 1927 por la Investigación Discovery, pero puede ser reflejo de algún nombre anterior. Pico de 1.125 metros de altura, que presenta manchas de color verde y que está ubicado a 3 millas al N del cabo Laure, en la costa SE de isla Anvers, archipiélago de Palmer.
