Cartografiado en 1945 por el FIDS que le dio este nombre por el teniente A. Reece, jefe de la Base del FIDS en isla Decepción en el año 1945 y meteorólogo y geólogo de la base de bahía Hope en 1946. Pico puntiagudo, libre de hielo, de 1.088 metros de altura, situado a 4 millas al W de la punta Pitt. Es el más alto de un cordón cordillerano que recorre en dirección N-E la costa SE de la península Luis Felipe.
