Descubierto en el vuelo transantártico de noviembre de 1935, hecho por Lincoln Ellsworth que le dio el nombre de monte Mary Louise Ulmer, por su esposa. Pico agudo, que se eleva a 3.800 metros, en el que alcanza su mayor altura los montes Centinela, cerca de la costa S del mar de Bellingshausen.
