This name originates from China. It is part of the China Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The bay between Fildes Peninsula and Adelie Island of King George Island is located East of Great Wall Station. With many reeves in the bay, the maximum depth is more than 20m. December 29, 1984, when the first Chinese Antarctic Expedition Team landed to determine the site of Great Wall Station. When the mapping squad leader E Dongchen was measuring the sketch of the station area and the station terrain, he named the nameless bay in front of the station as Changchen Wan. This is the first place which is named by Chinese Antarctic Expedition Team in Antarctica.
