This name originates from China. It is part of the China Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
A big cleaver located at the east of the Dalk Glacier. As far as 30 to 40 km from the south coast of Prydz Bay, the inland is covered with ice. In order to express the sentiment of the missing of former chairman Mao, it was named when satellite images surveying and mapping in 1993.
