This name originates from China. It is part of the China Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The snowy slope, along the ice ridge and south to Kongming Shan, is approximately 376 km away from the south of Zhongshan Station. The slope was the first stop after China's second Antarctic expedition on inland icecap arrived at its initial destination and kept traveling south. It was named when satellite images surveying and mapping in 1996.
