This name originates from China. It is part of the China Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
A big snow slope, located southwest to Jiuzhai Gou and 300 metres away from the Zhongshan Station, is covered with rugged ices. This place was the farthest turning point that the Chinese first expedition of inland icecap ever reached. It was named when satellite images surveying and mapping in 1996.
