This name originates from China. It is part of the China Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
It is a bare rock area, located in between Luyan Two and Luyan Four. This area is divided into two highlands. The eastern one has a highest altitude of 66 meters, while the western one has 96 meters. The name "Luyan Three" was given by the surveying and mapping engineers in 1991.
