This name originates from China. It is part of the China Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
It is at the joint of the southern most point of the Huaxi Bandao and the icecap.During summer ice melts and forms a deep freshwater lake that covers an area of nearly 900 square meters, whose south bank is covered with snow and ice. And the rest of its lake shores are gentle rocky slopes. It was named when aerial photos surveying and mapping in 1991.
