Named during expeditions conducted from 1982 to 1985, organized by the Geographical Institute of the University of Heidelberg and the Geomorphological Laboratory of the Freie Universtät Berlin. On a map published in 1973 on which results were presented of a Soviet Antarctic Expedition conducted in 1968, the creek is named ????? ???????????, rucej Stancionnyj (English name Station Creek).
