This name originates from Germany. It is part of the Germany Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The névé is a junction of Edlin Névé, the accumulation zones of Carryer Glacier, Graveson Glacier and McLin Glacier, Bowers Mountains, Victoria Land. Surveyed during the German Antarctic North Victoria Land Expedition 1979/80 (Ganovex I).
Scharte = gap, named after the nearby McKenzie Nunatak which can best be approached through McKenzie-Scharte.
