This name originates from Germany. It is part of the Germany Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
Pass where a deep Tafoni cavern exists, pass between Carnein Glacier and Jenagletscher, southern end of Eisenhower Range, Prince Albert Mountains, Victoria Land. Surveyed during the German Antarctic North Victoria Land Expedition 1988/89 (Ganovex V).
Tafoni, cavity features that develop in either natural or manmade, vertical to steeply sloping, exposures of granular rock (i.e., granite, sandstone) with smooth concave walls, and often round rims and openings.
