NW part of Ahlmannryggen at the grounding line of the ice shelf Fimbulisen, comprising the nunataks of Marsteinen, Valken, Krylen, and Knotten, Ritscherhochland, Maudheimvidda, Neuschwabenland, Dronning Maud Land. Discovered during German Antarctic Expedition 1938/39 ('Neuschwabenland-Expedition') under Alfred Ritscher.

Dietrich Witte, machinist on the expedition vessel 'Schwabenland' .
