head of Bertram Glacier, George VI Sound, following survey by BAS from Stonington Island , 1970-71, was named after Aldebaran, the brightest star in the constellation of Taurus, in association with similar names in this area (APC, 1977, p.3; BAS 250P sheet SR19-20/10, 2-DOS 1984).
