rising c.100m above sea level in Terra Firma Islands, Marguerite Bay, Fallières Coast, was surveyed by BGLE in 1936 (Stephenson, 1940, map facing p.232); resurveyed by FIDS from "Stonington Island" in 1948 and named from its appearance as seen from the W (APC, 1955, p.5; DOS 610 sheet W 68 66, 1963).
