W-most point of Horseshoe Island, Marguerite Bay, Fallières Coast, following survey of the island by FIDS from Sally Cove , 1955-57, was so named from the Argentine wooden beacon sited there and used as a reference point (APC, 1959a, p.4; BA chart 3213, 12.viii.1960).
