rising to 120m on E side of Botany Bay, Trinity Peninsula, was probably sighted by SwAE in 1903; surveyed by FIDS from "Hope Bay" in December 1946 and so named from a geological camp established at the foot of the hill (APC, 1955, p.6; BAS 250 sheet SP 21-22/13, 1-DOS 1974).
