rising 1m above sea level WSW of Adelaide, was charted by an RN Hydrographic Survey Unit from HMS Protector in 1963, and named after Sub-Lieut. (later Cdr) Geoffrey Alan Cavalier, RN (b. 1941), ship's helicopter pilot on reconnaissances that located the rock (BA, 1963, p.15; APC, 1964, p.2; BA chart 3577, 14.viii.1964).
