SW point of Liège Island, was charted by FAE, 1903-05, in 1904 and named Pointe Chauveau after Dr Chauveau, assistant meteorologist, Bureau Central Méteorologique, Paris, at that time (Charcot, 1906b, p.469). Cap Chauveau (Matha and Rey, 1911, Pl. 3 following p.615). Chauveau Point (USHO, 1943, p.115; APC, 1960, p.3; BA chart 3560, 7.iv.1961). Punta Chauveau (Argentina. MM chart 106, 1949; Pierrou, 1970, p.285). The point was photographed from the air by FIDASE in 1956-57. Chaveau [sic] Point (USOO chart 6944, 1963).
