W entrance point of Botany Bay, Trinity Peninsula, was sighted by SwAE in 1903; surveyed by FIDS from "Hope Bay", 1945-46, and so named because the point rises to a rock peak (355m), the sides of which resemble a church steeple (APC, 1955, p.7; BA chart 3205, 15.iii.1957; BAS 250 sheet SP 21-22/13, 1-DOS 1974); further surveyed by FIDS, 1959-60.
