rising to 330m N of Norway Bight, Coronation Island, was sighted by Palmer and Powell in December 1821; charted by DI in 1933 and named after G.E.R. Deacon (Cape Deacon, q.v.) (BA chart 1775, 17.viii.1934; APC, 1955, p.8; DOS 510 South Orkney Islands, West Sheet, 1963). Cerro Diácono [translation of English proper name against convention] (Argentina. MM chart 117, 1952; Pierrou, 1970, p.313). The hill was resurveyed by FIDS from Signy, 1956-58.
