Narrative

rising to c. 1850m on E side of Avery Plateau, between heads of Balch Glacier and Breitfuss Glacier, Foyn Coast, was photographed from the air by FIDASE and surveyed from the ground by FIDS from "Detaille Island", 1956-57; so named because it provides a useful landmark for ground parties on the plateau (APC, 1959a, p.6).
