rising to c. 1100m on E side of George VI Sound, was photographed from the air and surveyed from the ground by BGLE in 1936 (Stephenson, 1940, map facing p.232); resurveyed by FIDS from "Stonington Island" in 1949; named after Charles Neville Douglas Dixey (1881-1947), Chairman of Lloyd's, 1931, 1934 and 1936, who raised a special fund at Lloyd's as a contribution towards the cost of BGLE (APC, 1955, p.8; USHO chart 6639, 1955; DOS 610 sheet W 70 68, 1960).
