rising to 950m W of Croft Bay, James Ross Island, following survey by FIDS from "Hope Bay", 1958-61, was named after Alban Tabor Austin Dobson (1885-1962), English civil servant; Secretary, International Whaling Commission, 1949-59, and President, International Council for the Exploration of the Sea, 1952-55 (APC, 1964, p.3; BAS 250 sheet SQ 21-22/1, 1-DOS 1974).
