N-S pass between Dee Ice Piedmont and Clarke Glacier, Fallières Coast, was photographed from the air by RARE, 27 November 1947; surveyed from the ground by FIDS from "Stonington Island", 1948-50 and 1958; so named because the true nature of the feature is hidden by the surrounding mountains (APC, 1962, p.11; DOS 610 sheet W 68 66, 1963).
