Narrative

mountain rising to c. 1500m at the base of Arctowski Peninsula, Danco Coast, was surveyed by FIDS from "Danco Island" in August 1956, when the summit was reached; photographed from the air by FIDASE, 1956-57; so named because the very steep drop on its E side prevented the FIDS party from travelling E-ward to Forbidden Plateau (APC, 1960, p.3; BA chart 3566, 25.viii.1961).
