E of Williams Point, Livingston Island, following air photography by FIDASE and ground survey by FIDS, 1956-58, was named after the brig Dragon (Capt. A. McFarlane, McFarlane Strait, q.v.), of Liverpool, which visited the South Shetland Islands and N Graham Land, 1820-21 (APC, 1959a, p.6; DOS 610 sheet W 62 60, 1968).
