rising to 205m in Ezcurra Inlet, Admiralty Bay, King George Island, was known to sealers in the area from c. 1822; charted by FAE, 1908-10, in December 1909 and named Île Dufayel, probably after an expedition supporter (Charcot, 1912, Pl. 1). Hawk Island (Ferguson, chart, 1918a; Tyrrell, 1921, p.64). Haakon Island (Ferguson, 1921, p.39). Dufayel Island (BA chart 3213, 14.i.1929; APC, 1955, p.9; DOS 610 sheet W 62 58, 1968). Isla Dufayel (Chile. DNH chart 502, 1947; Pierrou, 1970, p.326; Chile. IHA, 1974, p.107). The island was photographed from the air and surveyed from the ground by FIDASE, 1956-57. Dufayel (Argentina.
