off W coast of Nansen Island, Wilhelmina Bay, Danco Coast, following survey by FIDS from Norsel in April 1955, was named Fleurus Rock after the FID ship Fleurus (Capt. Lauritz Karlsen), in which in 1928 Sir Arnold Hodson, then Governor of the Falkland Islands, made an official visit to the South Shetland Islands, Palmer Archipelago, South Orkney Islands and South Georgia (APC, 1958, p.5); following air photography by FIDASE, 1956-57, renamed Fleurus Island (APC, 1960, p.4; BA chart 3566, 25.viii.1961).
