one of the Duroch Islands (q.v.) off Cape Legoupil, Trinity Peninsula, was charted by CAE, 1947-48, and called Isla Comandante Escuadrilla González Rojas after Cmdte (E) René González Rojas, of the Chilean Air Force, who took part in the expedition as a pilot (Chile. DNH chart 503, 1948). Isla González Rojas (Chile. DNH chart 503, 1951). The island was later named Islote Gándara after Capt. (N) Jorge Gándara Bofill, of the Chilean Navy, commanding the patrol ship Covadonga on CAE, 1947-48 and 1948-49, and Commodore of CAE, 1954-55 (Chile. DNH chart 503, 1959; IHA, 1974, p.134).
