a nunatak in McLeod Glacier, Signy Island, rising to 225m, was surveyed by FIDS in 1947 and used as the site of a meteorological screen in 1949; named from the abundance of garnets in pink quartz veins (APC, 1955, p.10; Matthews and Maling, 1967, folding map; DOS 210 Signy Island sheet, 1-DOS 1973).
