N point of Rongé Island, Danco Coast, was charted by BeAE, 3 February 1898, and named Cap Georges, probably after Georges Lecointe (Lecointe Island, q.v.) (Lecointe, map, 1899; 1900a, map facing p.132). Cape Georges (Cook, 1900, map p.xx; USHO, 1943, p.124; APC, 1958, p.5). Cabo Georges (Argentina. MM chart 106, 1949; Pierrou, 1970, p.390; Chile. IHA, 1974, p.137). Following resurvey by FIDS from Norsel in April 1955 and air photography by FIDASE, 1956-57, the feature was renamed Georges Point (APC, 1960, p.4; BA chart 3566, 25.viii.1961).
