Curtis LeMay, USAF (LeMay Range, q.v.), at the time RARE was organized, who assisted in obtaining support for the expedition (USGS sketch map Ellsworth Land-Palmer Land, 1969; APC, 1975, p.3; BAS 500P sheet SS 17-20/SE, 1981).
