SW of Petermann Island, Graham Coast, was photographed from HMS Protector's helicopters in March 1958 and so named because it heralds the approach to French Passage from the SE (APC, 1959a, p.7; BA chart 3572, 12.viii.1960). Arrecife Baeza, so called by CAE, 1960-61, after Capt. Jorge Baeza Concha, Second-in-command of Piloto Pardo on the expedition (Chile. DNH, 1962, p.176; IHA, 1974, p.37).
