tidal lake on E coast of George VI Sound, S of Horse Bluff and marginal to George VI Ice Shelf, following oceanographic and limnological studies by BAS from "Fossil Bluff" from 1974, was named after Simon Alistair Hobbs (b. 1949), BAS general assistant, "Fossil Bluff", 1973-75 (APC, 1980, p.4; Lennon and others, 1982, Fig. 1, p.179).
