awash N of Thanaron Point, Trinity Peninsula, were charted as one rock by FAE, 1837-40, in February 1838 and named Roche Hombron after JacquesBernard Hombron (b. 1800), surgeon in the FAE ship Astrolabe (d'Urville, 1838, map following p.1170; Vincendon-Dumoulin, atlas, 1847, Pl.8). Roca Hombron (Spain. DH chart 458, 1861). Rocher Honabron [sic] (Charcot, 1912, Pl.11). Honabron Rock (BA chart 3205, 31.x.1921). Honabron Skj. (HA chart, 1928). The rocks were resurveyed by FIDS from "Hope Bay" in September 1946. Roca Honabron (Chile. DNH chart L, 1947). Hombron Rocks, referring to the group of rocks (BA chart 3205, 23.ix.1949; APC, 1955, p.12; BAS 250 sheet SP 21-22/13, 1-DOS 1974). Rocas Honabron (Chile. DNH chart 503, 1951).
