awash at S end of a shoal on E side of Gerlache Strait, W of Skottsberg Point, Trinity Island, following air photography by FIDASE, 1956-57, was so named in reference to the hazard posed to ships in an otherwise clear passage (APC, 1960, p.5; BA chart 3560, 9.ix.1988).
