W side of Freud Passage, E Brabant Island, below Mackenzie and Malpighi glaciers, was photographed from the air by FIDASE, 1956-57; so named in reference to the JSEBI sea canoes that passed through the bay on the first circumnavigation of Brabant Island in February 1985 (APC, 1986, p.3; BA chart 3566, 14.x.1988).
