Narrative

off E end of Chionis Island, Trinity Island, Palmer Archipelago, were charted by whalers before 1920 and named after Minerva, one of the factory ship Pythia's whale catchers (Pythia Island, q.v.), which went aground on the rocks, 1 March 1922, and was abandoned as a total wreck (Lester, 1920-22a, Vol.1, p.124; APC, 1960, p.6).
