between Round Point and Pottinger Point, N King George Island, was charted by DI, 1934-35, and named possibly after Vice-Adm. William FitzWilliam Owen (1774-1857), naval hydrographer (Nelson and others, chart, 1935c; BA chart 3205, 1945; APC, 1955, p.16; DOS 610 sheet W 62 58, 1968). The island was photographed from the air by FIDASE, 1956-57. Isla Redonda [=round island], in association with the point (Argentina. MM chart 126, 1957; Pierrou, 1970, p.618). Isla Round, as rejected form (Argentina. MM, 1957b, p.9).
