Narrative

rising to c. 1100m on N side of Whirlwind Inlet, Bowman Coast, was surveyed by the BAS Larsen Ice Shelf party, 1963-64; in association with the names of glaciologists grouped in this area, named after Sveinn Pálsson (1762-1840), Icelandic naturalist who carried out pioneer work on glaciers and ice caps in Iceland (APC, 1975, p.4; BA, 1976, p.4).
