rising to 1160m E of Traverse Mountains, George VI Sound, were surveyed by BAS from "Stonington Island", 1971-72, and named after Michael Raymond Pawley, BAS general assistant, 1969-71, and Station Commander, "Stonington Island", 1972-73 (BAS 250P sheet SR 19-20/6, 1-DOS 1978; APC, 1980, p.4).
