N of Dismal Island, Faure Islands (q.v.), Marguerite Bay, Fallières Coast, was surveyed by FIDS from "Stonington Island" in July 1949, when an astro-fix was taken at the rock; so named because of its insignificant size, a pipkin being a small earthenware pot (APC, 1955, p.17; DCS 601 sheet 68 68, 1955).
