the largest of a group of rocks between the NW coast of Pourquoi Pas Island and PiƱero Island, Loubet Coast, was surveyed by FIDS from "Stonington Island" in 1948 and named after the dwarf Daniel Quilp, a vicious, ill-tempered character in The old curiosity shop by Charles Dickens (APC, 1955, p.17; BA, 1956, p.78; chart 3570, 21.ix.1957; 3580, 10.xii.1982).
