at head of Markham Bay, SE James Ross Island, was roughly mapped by SwAE in 1902-03, when the name Rabot Gletscher after C. Rabot (Rabot Island, q.v.) was applied to a small glacier immediately W of The Watchtower (Nordenskjöld, 1911b, Karte 3). Following re-survey of this coast by FIDS from "Hope Bay" in 1948 and 1953, the name Rabot Point was applied to the present feature (APC, 1958, p.6; DOS 610 sheet W 64 56, 1961). Cabo San Luis (Argentina. IAA map, [1959c]).
